Dear Readers,
It is with great dedication that we will be serving as the Editors-in-Chief of The Barnard Bulletin for the 2025-2026 academic year. Last year, we had the pleasure of getting to know the vibrant and active Barnard student body as editors, and we take pride in the fact that our sections reflect its diversity, creativity, and passion.
To set the tone for the year, we would like to share the following quote from The Bulletin’s first issue, published on January 7, 1901, which we believe still rings true: “So now, it comes about that The Barnard Bulletin presents itself to the college world. Its aim is, primarily, to supply the college with news—its broader, underlying aim is to be the element of strength that shall weld the college together.”
Since then, Bulletin writers have covered countless historical events and changes, adding the unique firsthand accounts of college students to the narrative. Throughout its 124-year history, this publication has served as the pillar of truth for the community, bringing us together by documenting campus happenings and breaking news. This year, we pick up the torch to continue The Bulletin’s legacy.
As we look toward the future, we vow to prioritize the long-standing mission of serving as an outlet for student expression through an intersectional feminist lens. The Bulletin further pledges itself to unbiased, ethical journalism. Now, more than ever, we are dedicated to reporting the facts, always having eyes on the ground, and amplifying the voices of the Barnard student body and faculty. Our team of skilled writers, editors, and photographers demonstrate our core values of inclusivity and journalistic integrity.
To reiterate the quote with which we began, we would like to remind you that Barnard is stronger as a whole. As your new Editors-in-Chief, we hope that the truth unites you during times of change and uncertainty. We may supply the news, but ultimately, it is our community that gives us strength.
All the best,
Ava Glicksberg and Karissa Song
