To the readers of The Barnard Bulletin:

Welcome to The Bulletin’s 125th year of publication. 

As writers and editors, we have had the honor of reporting on defining developments at Barnard College, publishing exclusive stories that speak to our school’s unique position as a women’s liberal arts institution. Moving forward as The Bulletin’s editors-in-chief, we remain committed to representing our college in its entirety. 

It is our hope and vision that The Bulletin displays Barnard’s strengths — its vibrant student body, accomplished faculty, diverse alumni, and hardworking staff — along with its imperfections, which are no less a part of our College’s history than its myriad successes. To chronicle both with integrity and accuracy is our responsibility and our pride. 

Amid national political turmoil, attacks on higher education and the journalism industry, and concerns that artificial intelligence will render learning and literacy obsolete, we at The Bulletin remain dedicated journalists. We research and reveal truths about our institutions and the communities they impact. Our work continues to be vital to our peers, the public, and to future generations of readers.

And as we publish news about the College, we aim to foster and empower those within the College. Each element of our publication owes its brilliance to the hardworking and creative team that is The Bulletin’s staff, and we hope to continue welcoming journalists of all varieties to contribute to our paper’s mission. 

We are dedicated to our duties as your editors-in-chief, and look forward to another year of collaborative, feminist journalism.
